The Purist Edit was released shortly after the theatrical release of The Two Towers (i.e., early 2003), and it was made from a pirated, so there are frequent instances of the 'this DVD screener is not intended for sale' marquee at the bottom of the screen. While it is definitely worth watching, I think the makers of the Purist Edit could've done a much better job if they had waited until after all the extended editions of the films were released.
